Unfinished Demonshield
A newly made Shoon-style diamond shield
A modern diamond shield fabricated from four riveted triangular plates. It permanently remains inert because Mordas's ritual lacks Hilather's prison-key.
General description
Four pale metal plates form a compact shield over the off-hand forearm and upper arm. Fresh tool marks, mismatched rivets, and one unsealed channel betray recent manufacture. Its Shoon dimensions are exact. Its magic is not.

Key facts
- The triangular plates found in Adventure 006 are samples and rejected components from this shield, not fragments of an ancient artifact.
- The shield is nonmagical and functions as a normal shield.
- Mordas copied the exterior dimensions and visible channel geometry of a Shoon-era Demonshield but did not recover Hilather's prison-key.
- No version of Mordas's ritual can bind the summoned glabrezu into this shield. At full power, the spell-lens phase-rejects and the shield remains ordinary metal.
- The shield's apparent glow during the ritual is reflected resonance from the conjuration, not a forming enchantment or prison.

Adventure 007
The prepared shield begins on a connected armature in the upper shield chamber among failed diamond-shaped prototypes. After an alarm or long rest it is moved down to the ritual hall. The other assemblies are unconnected and cannot provide extra disabled components. The central object remains inert in every outcome. Mordas's full-power experiment summons a glabrezu but can never transfer it into the shield.
